Link LINE to Colab
Once LINE is linked, you can talk to Summy (the company’s LINE bot) as yourself — ask questions, add or change tasks and goals, record expenses, and get notifications and approval cards in the chat. Until you link it, the bot does not know who you are and replies that this LINE account is not linked to Colab yet.
Link LINE for the first time
- Sign in to Colab and go to Settings (at the bottom of the left-hand menu)
- Scroll down to the Integrations section and find the LINE bot card
- Press Connect LINE. A 6-digit code is created for you; you can press Copy
- In the LINE app, add the company’s bot as a friend (ask your administrator for the link or QR code if you do not have it)
- Send that code in a private chat with the bot (it does not work in a group)
- The bot replies that the account is linked, and the card in Colab changes to Connected with your LINE name
Good to know
- The code is valid for 10 minutes. If it expires, the card shows That code expired · get a new one; press Get a new code
- If you send a wrong code too many times, the bot makes you wait 1 hour before trying again
- Whenever a new LINE account is linked to your account, you get an e-mail about it. If it was not you, press Disconnect straight away and tell your administrator
Your company has more than one bot
LINE gives you a separate user ID for each bot, so you link each bot one at a time. The LINE bot card lists every bot with the status Connected or Not connected.
- Press Get a code for another channel
- Send the code in a private chat with the bot you want to link. One code works with any bot
You got an invite code from your administrator
An administrator may create your account from a chat and send you an invite code of 4 letters and 4 digits (for example ABCD-1234). Just send that code in a private chat with the bot — no need to visit the website first. Invite codes do not work for administrator accounts; administrators link from their own Settings page.
Disconnect, or switch to another LINE account
- Go to Settings › LINE bot
- Press Disconnect and confirm. After this the bot cannot reach you, and you cannot give the bot instructions until you link again
- To use a different LINE account, press Connect LINE and send the new code from that LINE account
The system never switches LINE accounts for you without saying so. If your Colab account is already linked to one LINE account and someone sends a code from another, the bot refuses, notifies the original LINE account and sends you an e-mail.
If something goes wrong
- This LINE account is already linked to the Colab user … — this LINE account belongs to someone else. Its current owner must disconnect it first
- The code is wrong or has expired — create a new code on the Settings page
- The Colab account linked to this LINE account has been switched off — contact your administrator
- The card shows Could not check whether LINE is connected — press Try again
